Join the Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 for a special edition of Canada's Storytellers featuring Montreal writer Alice Switocz Goldbloom, author of the award-winning memoir Family Secrets. Part detective story, part memoir, the book follows Goldbloom's search to uncover her parents' hidden wartime experiences in Nazi-occupied Poland. Through personal storytelling and historical research, she brings scholarly history to life while reflecting on family history, immigration, identity, belonging and the lasting impact of the stories we inherit.

Join Sarah Emsley for a reading from her debut novel "The Austens" and learn about Jane Austen’s exciting connections with Nova Scotia. Sarah is the editor of Jane Austen and the North Atlantic and author of a history of St. Paul’s Church, Halifax, where Jane Austen’s niece Cassy was baptized in 1809. Book signing to follow. Sarah will also have books will be available for purchase.
