Sheldon Currie was born in Reserve Mines, Cape Breton, attended university in Sydney, Antigonish, Fredericton and Alabama, taught English in high school and university.
He is retired and writing full time: short fiction, novels, plays and literary articles and reviews.
His short story, The Glace Bay Miners' Museum, was adapted for the film Margaret's Museum and for stage by Dartmouth playwright Wendy Lill.
His novel The Company Store was adapted for the stage by Mary Vingoe. He adapted his novel Two More Solitudes for the stage and his novel Down The Coaltown Road for the stage play Anna.
