The author of over two dozen books of fiction, including many for children, Budge Wilson has won the City of Dartmouth Book Award, Canadian Library Association Young Adult Book Award, Marianna Dempster Award, the Ann Connor Brimer Award, and the CBC Literary Competition, as well as several Canadian Children's Book Centre "Our Choice" awards. She began writing later in life, after working as a commercial artist and photographer, teacher and fitness instructor. Since publishing her first book in 1984, her books have appeared in Canada, the United States, Finland, Denmark, Italy and Australia.
